Qualifications

• Active CPA license required.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• Three or more years of public-accounting experience preferred.
• Strong experience preparing individual tax returns.
• Small-business and partnership tax experience.
• Fiduciary, estate, or trust tax experience preferred.
• Strong analytical, research, and critical-thinking abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Professional and confident client presence.
• Highly organized and able to self-manage.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Lacerte experience is a plus.
• QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients and conduct tax-preparation interviews
• Prepare and, depending on experience, review individual tax returns
• Prepare partnership, corporate, fiduciary, and estate tax returns
• Handle Forms 1040, 1065, selected 1120 filings, and Form 706 matters
• Prepare annual tax projections and planning recommendations
• Research technical tax issues
• Identify and execute tax-planning opportunities
• Assist with trust and estate engagements
• Participate in retirement, estate, and financial-planning meetings
• Coordinate tax strategies with financial advisors
• Deliver year-round accounting, tax, and consulting services
• Build and maintain long-term client relationships
• Support business-development initiatives
• Train and mentor junior accounting staff when appropriate
