AlphaX in New Jersey is seeking a Tax CPA to serve individual, small-business, estate, and trust clients while growing into wealth management and advisory services. The role emphasizes client interaction and proactive tax planning.

You will prepare returns, assist with partnerships and estates, and collaborate with financial advisors. The position requires an active CPA license, 1–3+ years of public accounting or tax experience, and on-site work in Oradell, NJ.

Qualifications

• Active CPA license required.
• 1–3+ years of public accounting or tax experience.
• Experience preparing individual and small-business tax returns.
• Experience with partnership and small-business returns preferred.
• Interest in financial planning, wealth management, retirement planning, and estate planning.
• Comfortable meeting with clients and explaining tax matters clearly.
• Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and maintain accurate client records.
• Strong written, verbal, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Willingness to work additional evening or Saturday hours during tax season when needed.
• Ability to work on-site in the Oradell, NJ office.

Responsibilities

• Meet directly with clients and prepare individual income tax returns.
• Prepare small-business and partnership tax returns, including Forms 1065 and 1120.
• Assist with trust, estate, and fiduciary tax matters, including Forms 1040, 706, and applicable New Jersey filings.
• Develop year-round tax-planning projections and recommendations.
• Support financial advisors with tax, retirement, estate-planning, and client budget discussions.
• Participate in client meetings involving financial plans, retirement strategies, and estate matters.
• Maintain strong client relationships and support new business development opportunities.
• Research tax matters and collaborate with managers, partners, and financial advisors.
• Assist with client accounting and other year-round advisory services.
• Identify opportunities to provide additional tax planning, advisory, and financial planning support to clients.
