Wertz & Associates in Westlake, OH is seeking a Tax Senior Associate to join its growing tax team. You will work with managers, partners, and clients on complex tax matters, building relationships and delivering practical planning insights.

The role offers hybrid flexibility, CPA support, and a clear path toward leadership, with hands-on exposure to individual, partnership, corporate tax, and estate planning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • 2–4 years of public accounting experience preferred (internship counted).
  • Strong tax preparation experience and client service skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities; proficient time management.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review various tax returns (individual, partnership, corporate, S-Corp).
  • Conduct tax research and assist with planning and advisory engagements.
  • Develop client relationships and provide timely, quality service.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff and lead selected projects.

Key Responsibilities
Tax Compliance & Preparation
  • Prepare and review individual, partnership, corporate, and S-Corporation tax returns
  • Analyze financial information and supporting documentation

  • Develop a strong understanding of tax laws and compliance requirements
Tax Research & Planning
  • Conduct tax research and technical analysis
  • Assist with tax planning projects and advisory engagements
  • Research complex tax issues and communicate findings effectively
  • Help identify opportunities to reduce client tax liabilities and improve tax efficiency
Client Service & Advisory
  • Assist in developing and maintaining client relationships
  • Communicate professionally with clients regarding tax matters

Leadership Development
  • Supervise and mentor junior tax associates
  • Review work and provide constructive feedback

Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 2–4 years of public accounting experience (internship experience considered)
