Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a year-round Block Advisor to prepare accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax needs. You will conduct in-depth client interviews, understand financial situations, and provide personalized recommendations within a collaborative, high-performing office environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
• Experience preparing complex individual returns and business returns, including tax planning, audit support, and tax notice resolution.
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain tax concepts clearly.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations (individual and business).
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications; provide clear recommendations.
• Build lasting client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
