Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a year-round Block Advisor (Tax Advisor) to prepare complete and accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex situations, including individuals and businesses.

You will interview clients to understand finances, provide personalized recommendations, and identify tax savings opportunities while delivering empathetic, consultative service. This in-person role supports a busy office environment.

Qualifications

• Completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or enrollment in progress.
• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
• Experience preparing complex individual and business tax returns.
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• High school diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse tax situations.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications.
• Build year-round client relationships and identify tax savings opportunities.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
