Job summary

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping
• Experience preparing complex individual and business returns including tax planning, audit support, and tax notice resolution
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to explain tax concepts clearly
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse tax situations, including individual and business returns
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications
• Provide clear, personalized recommendations and build year-round client relationships
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive, client-focused office environment
