Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an engineering Project Manager for the Northeast Region. Based in Portland, ME, you will lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-impact transmission and distribution projects with a focus on safety, schedule, and profitability.

You will drive client satisfaction, manage scope and budgets, pursue new opportunities, and mentor staff while maintaining our core values of safety, integrity, and exceptional service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum 7 years of engineering design and project management experience.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Willingness to travel and manage multiple sites/clients.

Responsibilities

• Plan, budget, and establish project objectives and deliverables.
• Ensure safety, quality, and profitability across projects.
• Manage engineering projects from concept to completion with control on scope and schedule.
• Coordinate with client teams across regional/branch offices to deliver outcomes.
• Identify opportunities, write proposals, present to clients, and negotiate contracts.
• Support development of business plans and profitable growth through proposals.
• Demonstrate foresight in solving problems and managing risk and costs.
• Oversee internal project financials, staffing, and risk management.
• Develop and enforce project policies and controls; monitor progress and cost.
