This position is part of a talented technical team responsible for the ongoing development, operations, and maintenance of networked systems supporting digital forensic investigations on Windows, utilizing virtual and cloud environments. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter with strong work habits, able to complete tasks independently while working as part of a team, with demonstrated experience as an ISSO or ISSE and familiarity with the Federal ATO process.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide senior-level expertise in information system security, including architecture, design, development, evaluation, and integration of applications, systems, and networks to maintain security posture.
  2. Develop compliance and standardization policies in accordance with customer policies and federal IA requirements.
  3. Work closely with government customers to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, applications, networks, and data.
  4. Prepare security documentation such as CMP, IRP, ISCP, and POA&M, ensuring compliance and coordinating reviews and approvals.
  5. Identify IA vulnerabilities, coordinate with teams to address them, and manage exceptions via POA&M processes.
  6. Review vulnerability scans and compliance reports to ensure patching and configuration adherence, especially in cloud environments like Azure.
  7. Prepare SAA packages to obtain and maintain system authorizations.
  8. Participate in CCB meetings, review change requests, and document impacts on security posture.
  9. Coordinate security incident responses with ESOC.
  10. Represent program security interests in meetings and coordinate with other ISSOs to meet interconnection requirements.
  11. Assess current and evolving security threats in operational environments.
  12. Work independently under guidance to fulfill technical requirements, adhering to project timelines.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience assessing and documenting security controls for systems, infrastructure, and applications, including cloud environments (AWS GovCloud, Azure GovCloud).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Security or related field, or additional relevant experience in lieu of education.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CAP, or equivalent are preferred.
  • Experience working on Agile teams and with federal law enforcement organizations.
  • Knowledge of Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs), basic coding, scripting, Splunk, and Tenable tools.
  • Ability to read technical diagrams, data flows, network diagrams, and understand RMF steps.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with cyber-risk and compliance management systems like Xacta or RiskVision.
  • Additional experience with vulnerability assessments, NIST SP 800-53 controls, and security tools like SPLUNK, Taclane, encryption devices, and COMSEC technology.
