Job summary

Applied Research Solutions seeks an engineering professional to implement and oversee safety engineering for DoD Air Force weapon systems. You will perform system safety tasks, risk assessments, hazard analyses, and ensure airworthiness and OSS&E compliance throughout the program lifecycle.

The role requires an active Secret clearance, ABET-accredited degree with 12+ years DoD experience or 15+ years with 5+ DoD, plus strong technical writing and collaboration with system safety groups.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited MS or BS in engineering with DoD experience.
• Active Secret clearance is required.
• Experience with MIL-STD-882 and AFI 91-202.
• Strong technical writing and safety program management.

Responsibilities

• Perform system safety tasks including risk assessments and hazard analyses.
• Develop and review system safety plans per MIL-STD-882 and AFI 91-202.
• Maintain hazard logs and track hazard closure.
• Organize system safety meetings and document outcomes.
• Evaluate safety concerns from operations and assist resolution.
• Support mishap investigations and risk mitigation.
