Job summary

KMS Solutions, LLC is seeking a Senior Systems Safety Engineer to support the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport, RI. You will apply safety engineering principles across the system life-cycle to balance safety with operational effectiveness, time, and cost.

The role requires a Bachelor's in a STEM field, 10 years of systems safety experience, and familiarity with NAVSEA and MIL-STD-882E. Telework up to 40% may be available; U.S. citizenship and DoD clearance readiness are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a science, technology, engineering, or math field.
• 10 years of systems safety engineering experience with hazard analysis.
• Experience with software systems safety analysis.
• Strong knowledge of MIL-STD-882E and NAVSEA System Safety Engineering Manual.

Responsibilities

• Research and analyze system designs to evaluate safety risk for safety reviews.
• Evaluate life-cycle phases of equipment for safety performance.
• Investigate potential failures and recommend mitigations to reduce risk.
• Apply engineering and management principles to optimize safety within cost and schedule.
