This position is part of a team providing engineering and technical support to the Ranges, Engineering, and Analysis Department at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) in Newport RI. This multi-disciplinary team is responsible for providing systems safety, environmental qualification testing, and range sustainment in support of undersea warfare systems. Candidates are highly desired with education and experience in technical fields.

This job operates in an industrial lab environment. This role routinely manual hand tools, power hand tools, basic machining tools, and specialized mechanical test equipment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Excellent listening skills are essential. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stop, kneel, crouch or craw. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds and lift/and or move object up to 50 pounds.
The typical workday is eight hours in length. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, with concurrence from the supervisor. Attendance at prescheduled mandatory meetings is required. Must be available during the core work hours as determined by your contract/location and must account for the required number of hours in a pay period to maintain Full-time status.
