Job summary

LMI is seeking a Senior Requirements Engineer to support the DHS CBP PMO from our Tysons, VA area with a focus on evaluating technologies, defining system requirements, and guiding program strategies for mission-critical deployments.

The role involves field-focused assessments, developing engineering documentation, and collaboration with CBP stakeholders. Candidates must have a strong background in RDT&E and security clearance eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Applied Physics, or related technical field.
• 5+ years of applied engineering, technology evaluation, or systems development.
• Familiarity with DHS or DOD acquisition processes, including SELC and test planning.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and technical writing skills.
• Experience working across technical and operational teams in mission-driven environments.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a CBP Background Investigation (BI) is required; active CBP BI preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define requirements for the systems and products required by users and stakeholders.
• Decompose high-level functions into lower-level functions using diagrams to document the requirements.
• Conduct trade studies to support functional allocation of requirements, evaluating alternative architectures and solution sets.
• Conduct AoA; AA; and DOTMLPF analyses to identify potential solutions to meet client needs.
• Document analysis outcomes in Functional Requirements Documents, Constraint Evaluation Analysis Reports, Cost Benefits Reports, or Trade Studies Reports.
• Prepare and update Requirements Analysis Reports, Functional Requirements Documents, Constraint Evaluation Analysis Reports, Cost Benefit Reports, and/or Trade Studies Reports
