Job summary

LMI Government Consulting is seeking a Senior Requirements Engineer to support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) CBP PMO. The role focuses on defining system requirements, evaluating technologies, and guiding program strategies to enable effective deployment of integrated systems.

The ideal candidate will hold a technical degree with 5+ years in engineering or systems development, possess knowledge of DHS/DOD acquisition processes, and demonstrate strong analytical and technical writing

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Applied Physics, or related technical field.
5+ years of experience in applied engineering, technology evaluation, or systems development.
U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain CBP Background Investigation (BI); active CBP BI preferred.
Familiarity with DHS or DOD acquisition processes, including SELC and test planning.
Excellent analytical, communication, and technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

Define requirements for the systems and products required by users and stakeholders; transform user requirements into technical requirements.
Establish project requirements baselines and analyze requirements to identify deficiencies and cost drivers.
Decompose high-level functions into lower-level functions and document with diagrams (FBD, FFD, timelines, data flow).
Conduct trade studies to support functional allocation, evaluate architectures, and assess costs/performance.
Perform AoA/AA/DOTMLPF analyses to identify solutions for client needs.
Prepare/update Requirements Analysis Reports, Functional Requirements Documents, and related artifacts.
