Job summary

General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) seeks a Systems Project Engineer within the Systems Engineering department to support the U.S. Navy Ford-class ALRE carrier programs.

The candidate will evaluate changes to baselines, present Engineering Change Proposals, and transition them from development to implementation while aiding fleet operations restoration. With limited direction, the engineer will lead design analyses, coordinate with customers and contractors, develop program plans

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's, master's, or PhD in engineering with progressive experience.
  • Extensive technical expertise and understanding of CONOPS.
  • Ability to plan and coordinate workloads to meet deadlines, with project leadership experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; capable of leading teams.
  • Experience with Cameo Systems Modeler or CATIA Magic.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical analyses and judgement for development, fabrication, testing, and integration of systems.
  • Coordinate with customers, contractors, and engineering groups.
  • Develop program plans, estimates, and schedules.
  • Generate system, sub-system, and component-level requirements for specifications.
  • Develop test plans and manage verification and validation of systems.
  • Present results at engineering reviews and consult on problems.
