Job summary

State of Florida, Division of Technology, is seeking a Systems Programming Consultant (Systems Administrator) to lead the Network Infrastructure Team. The role will deploy, secure, and maintain servers and network devices, ensure high availability, and document procedures.

The position requires cloud, virtualization, and telecom system experience, plus on-call duties and cross-training responsibilities within a dynamic government environment.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of professional IT work experience required.
• Experience with cloud technologies, virtualization, and hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Working experience with servers, network devices, and other enterprise equipment.
• Experience with telecommunications and collaboration systems.

Responsibilities

• Deploys, configures, maintains and secures new servers based on agency's needs.
• Maintains existing servers and performs upgrades and security patches.
• Monitors server health and ensures high availability; reports outages.
• Documents applications installed on each server and records changes.
• Performs server backups as needed.
• Deploys, configures, maintains and secures network devices.
• Maintains network switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers and related equipment.
• Monitors network health and reports outages or performance issues.
• Supports the agency's Communication Management System and related modules.
• Acts as technical resource and cross-trains team members.
• Assigns tickets and assists troubleshooting as necessary.
• Creates/coordinates documentation and knowledge base for the team.
