Job summary

FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF THE LOTTERY – DIVISION OF NETWORK & CLIENT SERVICES is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to maintain and administer the Lottery's networks, hardware, software, and related systems. The role reinforces data protection and disaster recovery while collaborating with users to resolve issues and optimize performance.

The position requires deep knowledge of network infrastructure, WAPs, firewalls, routers, and controllers with strong documentation practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Information Technology, or related field.
10+ years of IT network experience preferred.
Certifications: Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network+, Security+.

Responsibilities

Maintains and administers Lottery computer networks, hardware, software, and related systems.
Performs disaster recovery operations and ensures data security.
Configures and troubleshoots network devices including WAPs, firewalls, routers, switches, and controllers.
Develops network documentation and response plans for outages.
Plans and manages complex network projects and provides status reporting.
Stays current with security updates and applies patches with minimal production impact.
