Job summary

State of Florida is seeking a Network and Computer Systems Administrator to ensure reliability across virtualized and physical environments. The role focuses on Hyper-V, Windows Server administration, and enterprise networking, with responsibilities spanning daily operations, security, and disaster recovery.

Ideal candidates will have hands-on Hyper-V and TCP/IP experience, AD/DNS/DHCP, and PowerShell scripting. Bachelor's degree in a IT field plus two years of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, or related IT field with two years of IT experience (or equivalent).
• Experience may substitute for four years of college on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot Hyper-V hosts, VMs, clustering, and storage.
• Administer Windows Server environments including AD, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and file services.
• Monitor and optimize network performance (switches, firewalls, VLANs, routing, VPNs).
• Perform system updates, patching, backups, and disaster-recovery tasks.
• Implement security best practices and assist with compliance requirements.
• Provide Tier 2/3 support for server, network, and virtualization issues.
• Document configurations, procedures, and changes.

Key Responsibilities

• AdministerWindows Serverenvironments, including AD, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and file services.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Familiarity with PowerShell for automation is a plus.
• Ability to diagnose complex issues and work independently.

Minimum Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in computer science, management information systems, or certain other information technology-based fields of study and two years of relevant information technology experience.
• Relevant information technology experience and training may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the four years of college education.
