Job summary

Benchmark Electronics Inc. in Minnesota seeks an assembler to prepare products for system-level assembly, including unpacking, setup, final packaging and repair as required.

You will access paperwork, verify kits, enter batch information, label items, and use required tools while following routings and process instructions under supervision. The role involves potential heavy mechanical work and a focus on quality and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; 2+ years of SI experience.
• Must be able to perform repair or test and handle heavy mechanical assembly.
• Demonstrate good component recognition skills.
• Understanding of basic computer skills.
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrate discretion, confidentiality and professionalism when representing the company.
• Ability to support a 24/7 global business operation as required.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to work with diverse groups.
• Participate in a continuous improvement activity.
• Ability to read, write and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Accesses the appropriate paperwork and necessary drawings for each job assignment.
• Verifies kits, enters Batch lot information, packages and labels accessory items according to documented instructions.
• Uses appropriate mats and all required tooling.
• Checks equipment to ensure proper performance.
• Uses manufacturing routings and process instructions under close supervision.
• May assemble a variety of systems integration subassemblies.
• Notifies leadership of any shutdown situations.
• Enters data into Process Feedback System (PFS) and links subassemblies to final unit.
• Enters quantities into Operations Complete (Baan) when required.
• All employees are responsible for the quality of their work to meet or exceed customer satisfaction.
• Disassemble, repair and reassemble units in certified repair operations.
• Use manufacturing routings and process instructions under minimal supervision.
