Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager 2 for the SLCM-N Tactical Supplier Management Team software team in Huntsville, AL. This role combines technical leadership with functional management and may offer relocation support.

The position leads a team of engineers, interfaces with suppliers, and drives production scaling and product support while spending time on hands-on technical work and program leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 8 years of relevant experience; 6 years with a Masters.
• US Citizenship with Active U.S. Government Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date within the last 6 years.
• Experience with production, manufacturing, logistics, or affordability.
• Experience briefing and interfacing with high level customers.

Responsibilities

• Own both technical and programmatic leadership for a team of ~10-15 FTE performing systems engineering functions to define and develop production scaling and product support equipment, plans, and materials.
• Perform productive work on programs which could include specific engineering tasking related to your subject matter expertise, IPT leadership, and CAM support.
• Collaborate with peer managers to ensure consistency across multiple work groups.
• Develop engineering processes and guidelines and maintain the standard for engineering on the team.
• Manage workload forecasting including hiring and developing new engineering talent.
• Prepare, manage, and conduct employee feedback and recognition through Quarterly Connections.
• Collaborate with peer managers to ensure consistency across multiple work groups.
