Job summary
Northrop Grumman seeks an engineer to join the SLCM-N Program Production Scaling and Product Support teams in Huntsville, AL. You will work with Design Engineering and Suppliers to design production and product support equipment for the system, and contribute to trade studies and system engineering.
The role emphasizes launcher equipment concepts, producibility, and affordability, with oversight of avionics and airframe design. U.S.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM.
- 2 years (level 2) or 5 years (level 3) of relevant experience.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Active Secret clearance, current and within scope.
- Ability to obtain SAP approval within a reasonable period.
- Experience in electrical design/analysis, MBSE, and NX/electrical CAD tools.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical contributions for conceptual and preliminary design and technology maturation for future deterrence concepts.
- Develop launcher capsule support equipment concepts; oversee avionics and airframe design.
- Contribute to trade studies, architecture development and system engineering.
- Demonstrate ethics, integrity, and ability to innovate.
- Collaborate across Suppliers to accomplish team goals.
- Transition innovative solutions for US strategic deterrence programs to production.
- Evaluate mechanical systems and review designs for quality.
- Support design data packages, interface models, and other artifacts.
