Textron Systems in Hunt Valley, MD is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to drive unmanned surface vessel (CUSV) product development. You will integrate hardware and software, manage requirements, and lead cross‑functional teams in both R&D and production contexts.

You will develop architectures, perform SYSML modeling, conduct trade studies, and present outcomes to internal and external stakeholders. A clear, proactive communicator with DoD experience is essential, with willingness to travel up to

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with 5+ years experience
• Experience leading teams through the engineering lifecycle
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Active Secret Clearance preferred; Secret eligibility required

Responsibilities

• Lead full-life cycle design and development for the CUSV platform
• Perform requirements analysis, systems modeling (SYSML), trade studies, derivation, design reviews
• Develop systems architectures and concepts of operations
• Use technical acumen for systems engineering tasks and problem solving
• Review engineering work products for quality and accuracy
• Present work products to program teams and customers
• Manage tasking and subcontractor performance as Cost Account Manager
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and coordinate PCR database activities
• Lead changes and requests for deviation with cross-functional teams
• Interact daily with program managers, engineers and technicians
• Travel up to 15% as required
