Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries, within the Uncrewed Systems (UxS) group of Mission Technologies, seeks a System Engineer 5 to design, integrate, and test unmanned vessels and support equipment in Pocasset, MA. You will perform analysis, trade studies, and system modeling, and mentor junior engineers.

Candidates must have extensive UUV experience, be able to obtain a government clearance, and travel up to 20% with potential surges.

Qualifications

15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate; or 19 years relevant experience with HS diploma.
Experience designing, operating, troubleshooting, and sustaining UUVs and their related systems.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a government clearance.
Ability to travel 20% with potential surges to 60%.

Responsibilities

Perform system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for UUV systems.
Conduct analyses across all phases of the system lifecycle, including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal.
Translate customer or product requirements into logical and systematic system solutions within technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
Lead the development and maintenance of systems engineering artifacts, architecture products, and system models using tools such as JAMA and Atlassian.
Develop system architectures using SysML, UML, and UAF.
