Job summary

Textron Systems in the United States seeks an experienced Lead Systems Engineer for unmanned surface vessel programs. You will drive end-to-end systems engineering across R&D and production, owning requirements, architecture, and integration with a focus on DoD programs.

The role requires multi-disciplinary leadership, strong communication, and the ability to work with program managers, engineers, and technicians. A Secret clearance is preferred; travel up to 15% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with 5+ years related experience or master's with 3+ years or Ph.D. with up to 2 years.
• Ability to build relationships with customers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience leading a team through the engineering lifecycle.
• Effective writing and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-life cycle engineering design and development for the CUSV platform.
• Lead requirements analysis, systems modeling (SYSML), trade studies, and verification.
• Develop systems architectures and concepts of operations.
• Apply problem-solving to systems engineering tasks.
• Review engineering work products for quality and accuracy.
• Present work to internal teams and external customers at reviews.
• Prepare Basis of Estimates and manage Earned Value for cost accounts.
• Generate subcontract statements of work and manage outside performance.
• Mentor junior systems engineers and guide tasks to completion.
• Jointly manage CUSV PCR database and resolution process.
• Contribute to ECPs and Deviation requests and interface with program staff.
• Interact daily with program managers, planners, engineers, and technicians.
• Travel up to 15% for project execution and testing.
