Raytheon in Pasadena, CA is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to interface with stakeholders, lead technical groups, and architect new capabilities. You will develop CONOPs and system architectures, run trade studies, and monitor risks across programs.

The role requires an active TS/SCI clearance and U.S. citizenship, with onsite work in Pasadena and responsibilities across testing, verification, and reporting to customers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 8+ years of engineering experience.
• Experience with CONOPS development, requirements development/sell-off, and test planning.
• Active TS/SCI clearance and U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Stakeholder & Customer Interface: Interface with various stakeholders and customers to understand their needs and identify appropriate system solutions for a specific domain area.
• Working Group Leadership: Run a working group to host technical discussions and align system solutions.
• Architecture Development: Develop CONOPs (Concepts of Operations) and system architecture for new capabilities.
• Trade Studies: Run trade studies to identify and recommend the best options, considering technical, cost, and schedule constraints.
• Status & Risk Monitoring: Monitor and understand the status and risk of capabilities currently in development.
• Reporting: Communicate status and risk to stakeholders and customers on a regular basis.
• Capability Development: Interface with various stakeholders and customers to understand gaps in utility to develop and mature new capabilities
• Test & Verification: Develop and execute system test plans; conduct verification and/or validation of complex systems through test plan execution; review test results for system capabilities; conduct detailed analysis of results to the extent able, or clearly communicate analysis needs to the analyst team and put together final briefing packages for customers.
