Job summary

QinetiQ US is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead Test and Evaluation activities for the U.S. Army Javelin Seeker effort.

You will provide programmatic and technical oversight of contractor testing across the acquisition life cycle to ensure readiness and alignment with requirements. The role includes advising government and industry stakeholders, supporting T&E strategy, and reviewing test documentation with independent assessments of progress and qualification status.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
• 8+ years of systems engineering, test & evaluation, integration and test, or qualification experience in defense programs.
• Experience supporting acquisition-level verification, qualification, developmental test, or system evaluation activities across the full life cycle.
• Experience leading oversight of contractor test activities in government/SETA roles.
• Experience developing, reviewing, or assessing test plans, procedures, and verification docs for complex defense systems.
• Experience with requirements development, verification planning, and traceability; knowledge of cross-reference matrices & test readiness reviews.
• Experience with missile systems, seekers, sensors, EO/IR payloads, or other hardware-intensive defense systems.
• Strong analytical, technical writing, and briefing skills; ability to communicate with stakeholders.
• Active DoD Secret or higher clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide systems engineering and programmatic oversight of contractor-executed test & evaluation activities across the acquisition life cycle.
• Develop, review, update, and staff T&E strategies, test plans, verification approaches, and qualification documentation.
• Ensure traceability between system requirements, verification methods, qualification events, and test results.
• Support T&E planning across the full acquisition life cycle, including requirements development, design maturation, integration, verification, qualification, and reviews.
• Lead or support Test & Evaluation Working Integrated Product Teams and other technical reviews.
• Review contractor test procedures, readiness artifacts, safety docs, data packages, and test reports for rigor and compliance.
• Coordinate with government organizations, test centers, labs, and contractor teams for planning and execution.
• Support independent technical assessment of test adequacy, system performance, and program risk.
• Evaluate test discrepancies, root cause analyses, corrective actions, and retest activities.
• Prepare technical briefings and leadership inputs for decision-makers.
• Support assessment of EO/IR subsystem and integrated sensor verification activities.
