Job summary

TalentRemedy seeks an experienced Senior Systems Engineer - Test & Evaluation Lead to provide programmatic and technical oversight across the full acquisition life cycle for missile, sensor, and EO/IR systems. You will lead or support T&E WIPTs, TRRs, and critical reviews, ensuring traceability from requirements to test results while coordinating with government and contractor teams at Fort Belvoir, VA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, Optical, Aerospace, Physics, or related field
• 8+ years of systems engineering, T&E, integration and test, or qualification in defense acquisition programs
• Experience supporting verification, qualification, developmental test, or system evaluation across full life cycle
• Experience in government/SETA/program office oversight of contractor test activities
• Experience developing/reviewing test plans, procedures, readiness docs, verification docs, and test reports
• Experience with requirements development, verification planning, and traceability
• Experience with missile systems, seekers, sensors, EO/IR payloads, or other defense systems
• Strong analytical, technical writing, and briefing skills
• U.S. citizenship required
• Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one

Responsibilities

• Provide systems engineering and programmatic oversight of contractor-executed test and evaluation activities
• Develop, review, update, and staff T&E strategies, test plans, verification approaches, and qualification documentation
• Ensure traceability between system requirements, verification methods, qualification events, and test results
• Support T&E planning across the full acquisition life cycle
• Lead or support Test and Evaluation Working Integrated Product Teams (T&E WIPTs) and Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs)
• Review contractor-developed test procedures, readiness artifacts, safety documentation, data packages, and test reports
• Coordinate with government organizations, test centers, laboratories, and contractor teams
• Support independent technical assessment of test adequacy, qualification status, system performance, and program risk
• Evaluate test discrepancies, root cause analyses, corrective actions, and retest activities
• Prepare technical briefings and leadership recommendations for government decision-makers
• Assess EO/IR subsystems and integrated sensor performance through verification activities
