Job summary

QinetiQ US is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead test and evaluation activities across Navy and maritime defense programs. You will assemble test protocols from system requirements, integrate cross-disciplinary teams, and ensure readiness, execution, and reporting align with program goals.

The role emphasizes hands-on testing, design verification, and collaboration with customers and laboratories to deliver robust, verifiable solutions.

Qualifications

• BS in Systems Engineering or related field; MS preferred.
• At least five years in systems engineering, T&E, integration and testing, or qualification supporting defense programs.
• Experience with Navy or maritime systems.
• Experience with test plans, procedures, readiness docs, verification docs, and test reports for complex defense systems.
• Experience with requirements development, management, and traceability.
• Multidisciplinary team experience and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Develop product design descriptions, requirements and system test documentation, safety analyses, and technical analyses against requirements.
• Provide systems engineering oversight of test and evaluation activities.
• Develop, review, update, test plans, verification approaches, and qualification documentation aligned with requirements and objectives.
• Ensure traceability between requirements, verification methods, qualification events, and test results.
• Support T&E planning across the full design and development life cycle, including requirements development and design maturation.
• Coordinate with customer, test centers, labs and partner teams for test planning and execution.
• Support design and development of test fixtures to validate complex systems.
• Evaluate test discrepancies, root cause analyses, corrective actions and retests.
• Support hands-on integration troubleshooting at system and subsystem levels.
• Prepare technical briefings and verification status updates.
