Job summary

Lanteris Space Systems in Palo Alto, CA is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer for the 300 Systems Engineering group. You will apply systems engineering to complex spacecraft designs, lead ConOps development, manage requirements, budgets, and verification plans, and drive risk mitigation across subsystems.

The role emphasizes RF/Communications and Avionics; you will collaborate across teams, support testing, and engage with customers to shape design decisions while maintaining high engineering

Qualifications

• US citizenship or permanent residency required.
• 5+ years in systems engineering or real-time control of complex systems with focus on Communications/Avionics.
• Bachelor-level degree or equivalent experience; degree plus years preferred.
• Experience with requirements decomposition, verification planning, and risk mitigation.

Responsibilities

• Lead ConOps development and validation for spacecraft programs.
• Decompose and flow requirements across mission, system, and sub-systems.
• Manage requirements and system budgets (mass, power, data).
• Develop and execute full system validation and verification plans.
• Lead customer discussions on system design and compliance.
