Job summary

Lanteris Space LLC in Palo Alto, CA seeks a Staff Systems Engineer for the 300 Systems Engineering group to apply systems engineering to spacecraft designs including ConOps development and requirements flowdown.

You will lead verification activities, manage budgets, and collaborate with mechanical, structural, and configuration subsystems to meet mission requirements. This role requires US citizenship or permanent residency and offers a competitive California salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, physics or STEM field.
• Minimum of 5 years of systems engineering or real-time control experience.
• Experience in mechanical, structural, or configuration subsystems design and verification.
• Experience with US Government programs and DOORS/JAMA is a plus.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Experience coding in C, C++, Python, or Matlab for verification tools.
• Familiarity with requirements decomposition and flowdown.

Responsibilities

• Lead ConOps development and validation.
• Develop, decompose, and flow requirements across levels (mission, system, subsystem, component).
• Manage requirements development and maintenance.
• Develop and maintain system budgets (mass, power, data).
• Develop and execute full system validation and verification plan.
• Lead customer discussions regarding system design decisions.
• Define and conceptualize mechanical interface & operability requirements.
• Generate and maintain compliance matrix for system and subsystems.
• Facilitate collaboration across subsystems engineers to ensure compliance.
• Oversee spacecraft testing and review test results.
