MongoDB is seeking an experienced systems programmer to join the Server Programmability team in Dublin. You will own low-level C++ components, contribute production-grade code, and collaborate across teams on features for the MongoDB Server.

The role emphasizes performance, reliability, and learning in distributed systems. The position requires 3+ years in systems programming, strong CS fundamentals, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in Systems programming in C++ or other low-level languages.
• Hands-on experience building production-level code; C++ required.
• Deliver and deploy products with cross-team stakeholders.
• Strong CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, software design/architecture.
• Keen to learn in software engineering, distributed systems, performance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; collaborative mindset.

• Understand and improve MongoDB Server Programmability features.
• Lead medium-sized projects related to the team’s charter.
• Collaborate across project lifecycles from ideation to delivery.
• Uphold leadership principles and exemplify them in work.

• Write production-ready C++ code.
• Write unit and integration tests in C++, JavaScript, and Python.
• Investigate server performance and write regression tests.
• Interview engineers and handle customer escalations.
