Job summary

Onto Innovation seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to independently contribute to automated optical inspection and metrology platforms for the semiconductor industry. You will define goals, architecture, and mitigate risks while collaborating with marketing, supply chain, production, and field service to ensure project success.

Ideal candidates have a PhD or advanced degree and 10+ years in high-precision optical capital equipment, with experience in MATLAB, LabVIEW, and ZEMAX, and willingness to

Qualifications

• PhD or advanced degree in Physics, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in high-precision optical or semiconductor capital equipment or related industries.
• Proven ability to ideate, prototype, and bring complex products to market.
• Strong analytical skills for root cause analysis and solution development.
• Demonstrated experience with cross-functional product development projects.
• Knowledge of optical inspection, metrology, spectroscopy, ellipsometry, and reflectometry is a plus.
• Experience with MATLAB, LabVIEW, and ZEMAX is a plus.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 10%).
