Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to serve as the Program Risk and Opportunity Manager. The role centers on identifying, tracking, and integrating R&O initiatives with the program staff and IPTs, ensuring proper documentation and mitigation across the program lifecycle.

You will lead risk analysis, develop risk management plans, and participate in reviews and monthly risk board meetings. Strong communication, RI&O knowledge, and MS Office proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering discipline, or equivalent professional experience with 10+ years.
• Strong communications skills with the ability to challenge functional areas on operational risk and convey risk exposure and requirements.
• Experience implementing risk methodologies and performing risk assessments including issue management.
• Practical knowledge pertaining to RI&O management.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proven ability to see open actions through to completion.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary representative for managing and tracking identified risks, risk-related issues, and opportunities.
• Lead and implement proactive risk assessment, monitoring, and mitigation strategies.
• Develop and execute a Risk and Opportunity Management Plan.
• Attend reviews to ensure risks and opportunities are documented, tracked, evaluated, and mitigated.
• Coordinate R&O efforts with IPTs and finance/program management processes.
• Ensure IMS reflects R&O; mitigation/capture plans.
• Participate in program meetings to identify R&O items.
• Facilitate monthly risk board meetings with read-ahead material and minutes.
