Job summary

Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT) is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join the Missile Defense Analysis and Modeling (MDAM) team in Mount Laurel, NJ. You will design and develop complex real-time sea-based weapon systems and lead refactoring efforts while mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities include software development for certification, system testing, and advanced modeling using industry tools. A Secret clearance is required with 100% onsite work at Mount Laurel, NJ.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field (CS/CE/EE/SE/Physics/Math)
• 7+ years of full‑time professional experience in Systems Engineering or related roles
• Lead engineer experience on a technical program or project
• Familiarity with modeling concepts and tools (Cameo/MagicDraw/Rhapsody)
• Proficiency in two or more of the following languages: C++, Java, Python, MATLAB
• Willingness to travel up to 10%
• Experience with defense architectures and probabilistic performance measures

Responsibilities

• Refactor existing combat system design for improved efficiency or effectiveness.
• Develop software meeting rigorous certification standards and validation processes.
• Direct activities in ongoing testing and rearchitecture as programs evolve.
• Execute complex system stress tests and model behaviors with Cameo/MagicDraw/Rhapsody.
• Analyze probabilistic combat system performance measures for live-fire scenarios.
• Mentor junior engineering staff and share domain knowledge.
