Job summary

Jobtailor in Colorado is looking for a Senior Nuclear Survivability Engineer to decompose top-level requirements into system, subsystem, and component levels and ensure traceability from criteria to design and test artifacts.

You will lead risk management, technical planning, and reviews, collaborate across hardware, software, and specialty teams, and prepare compliance matrices and reports for internal and government review while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Experience in requirements development, decomposition, and traceability for complex systems.
• Familiarity with nuclear survivability concepts or strong aptitude to learn them quickly.
• Understanding of systems engineering processes across the full lifecycle (requirements, design, verification, validation).

Responsibilities

• Decompose top-level Nuclear Survivability requirements into system, subsystem, and component levels.
• Develop and maintain requirements traceability from system-level criteria to design and test artifacts.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and specialty engineering teams to implement requirements across the system architecture.
• Prepare compliance matrices, verification plans, and technical reports for internal and customer/government review.
• Lead system and decision analysis, technical planning, and risk management efforts.
• Provide guidance to junior engineers and mentor less experienced team members.
