Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior engineering leader to direct controls design for the nuclear business segment and translate concepts into strategy while implementing change. The role oversees design reviews and drives quality initiatives across the division.

The candidate will provide technical mentoring, cross-functional development, and representation of the Chief Engineer’s Office in design practices. Travel up to 25% is required, including international assignments, and U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
• At least 15 additional years of engineering experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%, including international trips.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Interpersonal and leadership capabilities.
• Ability to pursue correct engineering processes under adverse conditions.
• Ability to interface with all organizational levels.
• Expert in a specific engineering discipline.
• Access to export-controlled information requires authorization from the U.S. Government, if applicable.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Direct the functional area of controls design for the nuclear business segment.
• Translate concepts, develop strategy, and implement change.
• Lead and guide the design review process and preside over formal design reviews.
• Provide technical mentoring and leadership during the design process.
• Represent GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy in industry groups.
• Promote division-wide initiatives related to design quality and reliability.
