Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT is seeking an Engineer Sr - Systems to lead risk-driven engineering activities for submarine construction programs. The role requires interacting with multiple departments and managing risks to ensure project milestones are met.

The ideal candidate has a BS+ in engineering and 5+ years of collaborative experience, with a preference for Nuclear Propulsion exposure and PMP certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or higher in Mechanical, Aerospace/Aeronautical, Civil, Electrical, or Marine Engineering.
• 5+ years post‑graduate experience in a collaborative engineering/construction environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Gain knowledge of submarine construction processes and identify risk areas.
• Facilitate risk mitigation meetings across project teams.
• Provide engineering review for formal risk assessments and mitigations.
• Ensure engagement in construction-related learning sessions.
• Oversee engineering surveillances of construction and testing evolutions.
