Placements24 is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to design, implement, and maintain complex network environments for our on-site Upington operation. The role emphasizes reliability, security, and performance of IT systems and network services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years in network administration and systems engineering.
• Proven design, implementation, and management of complex LAN/WAN environments.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF.
• Experience with network security technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs).
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper‑V) is a plus.
• Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+ are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, install, configure, and maintain robust network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Monitor network performance and security; identify and resolve issues proactively.
