You will configure routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers, monitor performance, and lead security policy implementations. Collaboration with IT teams and on-call support are key parts of the job.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in network engineering focusing on enterprise networks.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing (BGP/OSFP), and switching technologies.

About the Role Our client, a leading telecommunications provider, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Network Engineer to join their infrastructure team. This role is based in Upington, Northern Cape, with a hybrid work arrangement that offers flexibility between office-based work and remote access. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, configuration, and maintenance of complex network infrastructures, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of network protocols, routing, switching, firewalls, and network monitoring tools. You will play a vital role in supporting and evolving the company's network operations, troubleshooting complex issues, and contributing to strategic network planning. Requirements

• Hands-on experience with firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco ASA), VPNs, and network security best practices.
• Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix).
• Familiarity with cloud networking concepts (e.g., AWS VPC, Azure VNet).
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or JNCIS are highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hybrid environment.
