Job summary

Muon Space in San Jose is seeking a Systems Engineer, Mission Platforms to act as the primary systems integrator for end-to-end mission capability baselines. You will coordinate hardware, flight software, ground interfaces, and operations to drive platform roadmaps.

The role requires an MS or higher in engineering with 8+ years in spacecraft-related environments, strong stakeholder management, and experience with AI&T and V&V workflows. Hybrid on-site work three days a week in San Jose.

Qualifications

• M.S. or higher degree in engineering required.
• 8+ years of experience in multidisciplinary engineering environments preferred (spacecraft systems).
• Proven ability to drive alignment across senior stakeholders without direct reporting lines.

Responsibilities

• Lead the definition and integration of the holistic mission platform baseline across hardware, software, payloads, and ops.
• Partner with Business Development and Product Management to map end-to-end technical roadmaps for spacecraft platform families.
• Create and release standardized platform baselines for reusable HW/SW/Ops solutions for MLSEs.
• Serve as strategic integration peer to domain leads (Hardware Chief Engineer, FSW/GSW Architects, Operations).
• Run system-level simulations and V&V activities to ensure budgets and performance meet platform specs.
• Maintain awareness of avionics and subsystem roadmaps to meet platform timelines.
