Job summary

Muon Space is seeking a Staff Mission Lead Systems Engineer to join our Mission Execution team in Mountain View, CA. You will partner with the Mission Architecture team to shape technical concepts and drive architecture trades for prospective Muon missions.

This role spans from concept through on-orbit operations, interfacing with customers and cross-functional teams. Hybrid work is required on-site in Mountain View three days per week.

Qualifications

• Experience leading complex system designs for USG/IC or commercial customers.
• Proven ability to manage requirements, verification, and validation across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong communication, presentation, and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Mission Architecture to develop concepts and baselines for prospective missions and proposals.
• Maintain mission-level system models including architecture, requirements, interfaces, and behavior.
• Lead design reviews and ensure on-orbit validation and mission performance monitoring.
