Job summary

CAE USA Inc. in Binghamton, NY is seeking a Systems Engineer to shape the high-fidelity simulator systems powering real-time training devices for pilots and maintainers. You will modernize legacy platforms, integrate new capabilities, and ensure realism and reliability that keeps pilots mission ready.

The role requires 8+ years in mission-critical systems, strong leadership, and DoD clearance eligibility. Occasional overtime, shift work, and CONUS travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (or related discipline).
• 8+ years of experience in systems engineering for mission-critical or real-time environments.
• Proven leadership, mentoring teams, and delivering high-quality software in high-stakes environments.
• Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• Flexibility for occasional overtime, shift work, weekend work, and CONUS travel.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain core systems that ensure reliable, high performing simulator operation.
• Modernize legacy simulator systems with enhancements, new features, and optimized stability.
• Collaborate with software and hardware teams to integrate system components into real-time training devices.
• Support system reviews and cross-functional innovation to evolve next-generation training capabilities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues across modern and legacy platforms.
• Contribute to systems that directly support pilot readiness and mission safety.
