Job summary

CAE in Binghamton, NY seeks an experienced software engineer to build mission-ready training systems, from high-fidelity flight simulators to live-virtual-constructive solutions, ensuring reliability and performance for defense training programs.

You will work with cross-functional teams, adapt to Waterfall and Agile/Scrum processes, and contribute to the evolution of critical national security initiatives while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in CS or CE or a related field.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience in mission-critical or real-time environments.
• DoD Secret clearance and Special Program Access; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software for flight and mission simulators, ensuring reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software with hardware for real-time, mission-critical applications.
• Lead and mentor teams, participate in code reviews and agile ceremonies, and drive technical innovation.
