Job summary

Eaton's GEIS division in Syracuse, NY is seeking a Sr Systems Engineer - Lighting for a hybrid role at our Syracuse headquarters. You will define system requirements and provide technical leadership across harsh, hazardous and industrial luminaire products.

The role leads system architecture and integration of mechanical, optical, hardware and software; oversees validation and V-cycle processes; mentors engineers and collaborates with marketing, operations and global centers.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Minimum of five (5) years of systems engineering experience (mechanical, optical, hardware, and software).
Technical degree preferred.
Experience with engineering software and CAD tools a plus.
Experience with luminaire design and optical components is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Define system requirements and lead architecture for harsh industrial luminaires.
Oversee validation and verification across the V-cycle to ensure required performance.
Mentor engineers and provide technical direction across global centers.
Collaborate with marketing, operations and other departments to align objectives.
Estimate development resources and timing with project managers.
