Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the JPALS program, focusing on developing, testing, and documenting algorithmic models using MATLAB and Simulink. The role includes lab-based contributions and collaboration with peers to advance GPS navigation solutions.

The candidate should have a STEM degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with 3+ years, and be prepared for field work and occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Experience in MATLAB and Simulink.
• Experience in Code optimization and/or numerical stability. Experience in the Systems Engineering discipline.
• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Test algorithms and models for the JPALS program.
• Develop the necessary tools to accomplish sufficient testing.
• Work on multiple tasks in a software development environment.
• Conduct analysis for system trouble shooting.
• Improve code quality by performing code reviews and good software practice.
• Analyze data using advanced mathematical and statistical techniques.
• Willingness to travel 10% and do field-work.
