Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking Algorithms Systems Engineers to support the Joint Precision Approach and Landing System (JPALS) program in an onsite capacity in the US. The role involves running and testing modeling and simulation of algorithmic models using MATLAB/Simulink, documenting equations, and performing data and statistical analysis.

The successful candidate will work with limited supervision or in a team to meet operational targets and may eventually guide and train other

Qualifications

• Proficiency in MATLAB; code optimization and numerical stability.
• Understanding of basic software development principles – configuration control, collaborative development, formal processes.
• Experience in reading and developing algorithm descriptions, mathematical expressions and derivations, matrix manipulations, outlier analysis, and system level analysis.
• Experience in performing data analysis and problem solving (e.g. anomaly investigation).
• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
• Ability to obtain a SECRET Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Test algorithms and models for the JPALS program.
• Develop the necessary tools to accomplish sufficient testing.
• Work on multiple tasks in a software development environment.
• Conduct analysis for system trouble shooting and analysis.
• Improve code quality by performing code reviews and good software practice.
