Job summary

RTX/Collins Aerospace seeks a Senior Systems Engineer in Algorithms for the JPALS program, onsite in Fullerton, CA. You will develop and test high-fidelity algorithm models, run MATLAB/Simulink simulations, document equations, and perform data analysis.

The role requires collaboration with a small team and occasional leadership of technical discussions. The ideal candidate has strong MATLAB/Simulink skills, data analytics experience, and a STEM degree with relevant work history.

Qualifications

• Proficient in MATLAB; code optimization and numerical stability.
• Proficient in data analysis and problem solving.
• Model driven design using Simulink and auto generated code.
• Experience with software development principles and configuration control.
• Strong understanding of algorithm descriptions and mathematical derivations.
• Systems engineering discipline knowledge.
• STEM degree with 5+ years experience or Advanced degree with 3+ years.

Responsibilities

• Support development of algorithms, tools and models for JPALS.
• Conduct statistical analysis, probability theory and Monte Carlo simulations.
• Support independent research and analysis.
• Collaborate with a small team for system troubleshooting and analysis.
• Understand technical papers and integrate them into high fidelity models.
• Lead technical discussions with customers and team presentations.
