Job summary

Beehive Industries is seeking a Systems Engineer for Sustaining Engineering at our Knoxville, Tennessee facility to maintain the technical integrity and performance of jet propulsion products as they transition to production.

The role requires working across Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Test, Supply Chain, and Operations to resolve production issues, verify dispositions, and drive continuous improvement for repeatable, reliable production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical discipline.
• 10 years aerospace product or systems experience.
• Experience supporting manufacturing operations and quality inspections.
• Experience with additive manufacturing and design for manufacturability.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Lead system-level investigation and resolution of issues affecting production and product performance.
• Evaluate non-conformances, test anomalies, and production issues for impact on requirements.
• Serve as technical integrator across mechanical, aerothermal, electrical, test, and quality disciplines.
• Coordinate root cause investigations and corrective actions across subsystems.
• Assess proposed dispositions for system-level impacts and unintended consequences.
• Maintain understanding of requirements, interfaces, and critical characteristics.
• Support requirements management, traceability, verification, and validation.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing to improve producibility and reliability.
• Define technical requirements for engineering changes and ensure verification.
• Review production/test data to identify trends and improvements.
• Participate in material reviews, configuration control, and design reviews.
• Document sustaining decisions aligned with product requirements.
• Communicate issues, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Help establish tools and processes to improve engineering rigor.
• Support knowledge transfer between development and manufacturing teams.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
