Job summary

Commonwealth of Virginia's Department of Corrections seeks a Senior Systems Engineer in Central Administration to lead IT systems architecture, planning, and project delivery in support of DOC operations at the Headquarters.

The role emphasizes deployment, configuration, server and database administration, release management, security, and collaboration with Law Enforcement Services teams to ensure reliable applications and services.

Qualifications

• Experience with SDLC and release management best practices.
• Experience with Windows Server administration, Linux administration, IIS or web server administration.
• Experience with MS SQL Server or other databases and ASP.NET support.
• Implementation of secure systems, patch management, backup, DR, and BC.

Responsibilities

• Deliver systems architecture and planning, project initiation, business analysis, requirements definition and system design.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain OLES crime lab applications and systems, including release management and server/database administration.
• Collaborate in teams, maintain professional relationships with colleagues and customers, demonstrate initiative and strong communications.
