Job summary

RTX is seeking a Systems Engineer II for the Apollo deployed software and systems team supporting the AN/TPY-2 radar program. The role is onsite in Woburn, MA, with travel to support installations, testing, and field operations.

You will lead deployments, configure radar builds and software updates, troubleshoot Linux-based systems, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced defense environment.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in systems software integration, testing, and/or troubleshooting.
• Experience with Linux operating systems and advanced Linux skills (command line, scripting, administration).
• Strong software development and debugging skills (C++, Python).
• Experience leading integration/testing of real-time or mission-critical systems.
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical lead within the deployed systems and software team for AN/TPY-2 radar.
• Lead installation, integration, and configuration of radar builds and software updates.
• Troubleshoot complex Linux-based software and systems issues with cross-functional teams.
• Develop and maintain test plans and procedures for new software builds.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical oversight during testing operations.
• Prepare clear technical documentation and test reports for stakeholders.
• Travel up to 25% domestically and internationally to support deployments.
