Job summary

Generac Power Systems is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer for the Home Standby Systems Engineering team. You will integrate mechanical, electronic, and embedded firmware subsystems into a complete product, working with radio, controller, engine, manufacturing, and applications teams.

You will define interfaces, manage system-level requirements, and drive verification plans. This role also includes mentoring engineers and guiding cross-functional development across the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Software, or Systems Engineering.
• 8+ years engineering experience including systems integration for complex products.
• Experience with V-model, verification, validation, and requirements management.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the systems integrator for Home Standby products with mechanical, electronic, and embedded firmware subsystems.
• Define subsystem interfaces and resolve integration issues across multiple teams.
• Develop and manage system-level requirements and verification strategies.
• Lead technical design reviews and cross-functional decision making.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and promote best practices.
